Mortgages his franchise to win, then cuts and runs at the first sign of hardship leaving behind a dumpster fire!

It doesn't get any more millennial than that!

Meanwhile, old school cats like Belichick and Tomlin keep plugging away no matter what. No excuses, no short cuts.

The Rams are a train wreck for the foreseeable future. Whoever comes in will probably have to trade Darnold, Ramsey and maybe even my boy Cooper Kupp to try and recoup some higher picks.

Where's Millennial McVay going to end up? Dallas? LMFAO!

I had no idea he was also the GM and "mortgaged" the franchise.
So McVay wasn't the catalyst who ran Goff out of town?

Two first round picks, a third AND Goff for a QB most here wouldn't draft in their fantasy pools, and may not even be their starter next season! Anyone who watched those games would agree the Rams won IN SPITE of Stafford.

Now with the future mortgaged and gone, Millennial McVay doesn't want to stick around for the "hard work" of a proper rebuild, he only wants the glitz and glamor of winning??

What kind of mentality is that??

I dont disagree with the move. Rumors had him leaving last year.

Rams are going to be bad for a while. Have him step down, go into tv for a while, then be back in high demand in a few years.

Its a good career move

Stafford is an above average QB. In the Kirk Cousins tier of QBs.

They in no way won in spite of him. He is decent but needs a strong team around him to win a super bowl.

He makes mistakes no question but he can also make plays for you.

Rams knew they were going all-in last season and it worked. If they suck for the next 3-4 seasons so be it---you got a Super Bowl title that is very hard to obtain. I highly doubt they regret anything they did last season.

I do enjoy how Jared Goff is getting treatment now as if he is some great/really good QB. They went 9-8(missed play-offs) in one of the weakest NFCs i can remember.

The seahawks with GENO SMITH at qb made the god damn play-offs. LOL

Kirk Cousins Vikings won 13 games while barely outscoring their opponents.

Stafford's game has always reminded me of a poor man's Brett Favre.

The Kirk Cousins/Stafford tier are a dime a dozen in the NFL.

No need to destroy your future swapping one for another. After all, Goff got them to the Promised Land before that.

You can win a lot of games with a "game manager" as your QB on a stacked team. Look at the Niners - nothing changes no matter who comes and goes at that position.

Sure, the Rams got their SB, but the fact Millennial McVay wants to bail on this dumpster fire is proof they made all the wrong moves.

It worked the one season, but somehow the Rams got lucky. The NFC was (is) a dumpster fire in itself, and McVay didn't have to face the Chiefs or Bills, otherwise they would have gotten clobbered!

Stafford is reckless. You have to be elite to be reckless.

So many wannabees try to be something they're not and end up costing their teams games, when if they just played within their limits they would be far more effective.

He won them a super bowl. I believe he was a pro bowler and maybe even made all-pro team.

He was very good for them. He almost cost them the san fran(nfc championship) game but his teammates pick him up in that game.

You can be very good and reckless if you have a strong team around you---which he did.

No one thinks now or than or did the rams think this when they traded for him---that he was an elite qb.

I think Stafford make the "Hall of Very Good" as i never thought he was a top tier QB

However, He was a tier or 2 ahead of Goff when the trade was made

Crude, you just said, "one of the weakest NFCs I can remember"

I totally agree.

The Rams got lucky in more ways than one. Repeat that experiment over a larger sample of games and they fail.

Like I said... Goff/Tannehill/Cousins/Tua/Stafford/Ass Prescott/Garoppolo/Mayfield....dime a dozen in the NFL.

If the Rams are so great, why does Millennial McVay want to bail? We know why.

I never said they were great.

That team sucks now. But they got the title. Who cares if they suck the next 3 years. U think they would go back and not do the trade?

They got their dream scenario out of that trade.

Truthfully they might not even be all that bad next year.

I don't remember what the Stafford injury was or the Kupp one but if both come back healthy and especially if the NFC is a disaster again---i could see them winning 9-10 games and sneaking into play-offs.

Stafford is definitely a good enough qb to carry some of the load.

It's his career and he can do what he sees fit.

Guy was talking about walking after last season. Remember the Rams o/u was 10.5 so obviously they were SUPPOSE to be good and he was still thinking about leaving.

Could be burn-out. Would it be better if he just accepted his million dollar checks and half-assed it?

Burn-out? This is his first head coaching job, which began in 2017! LMAO

You are making my points very eloquently - thank you!

Sure, McVay can do what he wants, but that doesn't change the fact he's lazy, entitled and doesn't want to work... typical millennial.

Or maybe he just wants a new job?

Lazy and entitled?

He went to the super bowl with Jared Goff as his QB and also won a super bowl. He's done well

If he wants a break to do other things, then why not? He's a good looking guy who has done well financially. Let him work in tv where he doesnt have to do the grind every day. He'll still make decent $$

If he feels like coming back to coaching, then he will, and the team that hires him will pay a premium

Yes, lazy and entitled.

"There's a growing sense that he will [step down]. My understanding is it's not because of burnout or he wants to get into TV, he won a Super Bowl and now he's facing a multi-year rebuild that he just doesn't want to be apart of..." :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Do you disagree with this take?
